Dallas Brooks Park Beaconsfield temporary closures
The Scout Association of Victoria temporarily closes Scout Campsites when the state Government announces stay-at-home (lockdown) orders. Dallas Brooks Park lies within the Greater Melbourne Area and is closed when stay-at-home orders for Melbourne are in place.
This decision is in line with the Victorian State Government’s Stage 4 rules put in place to reduce the community spread of coronavirus.
We understand that many scouts, leaders and families love the camping experience. However, social distancing and the maintenance of clean surfaces while in our Scout Camps becomes impossible with communal cooking and ablution areas.
Upper Beaconsfield Locals
The Dallas Brooks Park is a great favourite for the local residents of Upper Beaconsfield – for walking, bike riding and horse riding. This is particularly true with the introduction of STAGE 4 COVID restrictions with the park being within the 5 kilometre travel limit. The Park management appreciate the affection in which you hold the Park, and if you experience any difficulties please contact us. During lockdowns access to the park for locals remains unchanged.
Reopening of the Park
The date of our re-opening for camping and day activities corresponds with the lifting of lockdown orders. Booking preference is given to those groups whose camps were cancelled due to a lockdown. The Park is available for overnight camping, day excursions and activities. Bookings are required and fees are applicable. We talked about walking in the Scout park (amongst many other topics) and you mentioned you have a map of the Scout Park in pdf form, which you would be OK with me, as part of the Upper Beaconsfield Conservation Group, passing on to those in the local area who are looking for new places to walk.There are some great tracks throughout the park and most are circular – ideal for walkers.
If you could send me a copy of the map that would be a great help – would save me having to do a “Mud Map” myself, and probably a bit more accurate!

Hi Dylan. Dallas Brooks Park is open to locals for walking, cycling and picnic-ing observing the current COVID outdoor gathering restrictions. You’ll find the gate locked to vehicle traffic. Camping (by booking only) will be resuming soon, so please be sensitive to those camping while you enjoy your visit. Trev
